Incorporating the principles of Universal Design – the idea that products should be equally accessible for all people regardless of mobility, age, or situational impairment – the MV-1 is the first vehicle designed and built, direct from the manufacturer, to meet or exceed ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act 1990) guidelines and satisfy the demanding needs of paratransit and taxi fleets, as well as consumers. A vehicle that is safe, durable, and amazingly comfortable for all passengers whether they’re in a wheelchair or not, purpose-built without the need for any retrofitting. Florida-based Vehicle Production Group LLC (VPG) will commence volume production of the MV-1 in October 2010. The new vehicle will be powered by the rear wheel drive Ford 4.6L 2V EFI V8 engine and 4 speed automatic transmission and will be available in either dedicated Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) or gasoline models.
